The Little Flamingo website contains all of our current invitation and stationery designs along with images, information and pricing details. Samples are also available for many of our products so you can get up close and personal with your favourite invite before ordering.

Our design studio is located in the usually sunny Northern Beaches, Sydney, Australia. This is our office only and not open for appointments, our store is online only which means you can visit anytime.

Yes! Many of our designs have samples available for a small charge, and postage is FREE for all sample orders!

Most of our invitations and all place cards have guest name personalisation available. Please refer to the information page on your selected design or contact us for clarification.
Once you place your order we will send you an excel spreadsheet to complete and return with you guest details or if you want to be super dooper organised you can download it here and upload it at the time of your order!

Certainly can! we offer guest addressing printed directly onto your envelopes. Yes, that’s right printed ONTO the envelopes, not the print a bunch of labels and stick them on type of envelope addressing that most stationery companies use, but the real fair dinkum print your guests details on the envelope style. This also includes your RSVP envelopes too! Pretty cool huh!

Due to the various different styles of printing we use when creating our invitations, we cannot always print your guest names directly onto the invitation design so in many instances we send you double envelopes! That is, two envelopes per invitation – an inner envelope without glue on the flap and an outer gummed envelope at no additional cost!

Absolutely! High quality envelopes are included with all our invitations and folded thank you cards. Our RSVP cards (not RSVP postcards) also have envelopes included and they even come pre-printed with your return address details!

Okay, let’s break it down –

The Inner Envelope: This slightly smaller, envelope (the one without the glue on the flap) is where your guest names should be printed or handwritten. Pop your invitation and additional cards into this envelope before inserting it into the larger size outer envelope for posting.
The Outer Envelope: This is the larger, gummed envelope where the recipient’s name and address is printed or handwritten.

Insert your inner envelope (containing your invitation ensemble) into the larger envelope, seal, add a stamp and send it off with the posty!

invitation envelopes

Unfortunately not. All of our invitations are professionally printed (no basic home printers or dodgy colour photocopiers here!) the minimums are the smallest number our production department can economically print.

Please note, that minimums do vary depending on the invitation design with some of our invitations having a minimum of only 15 invitations!

We always recommend having a few spare invitations especially if you are handwriting guest names onto the invitations. We recommend somewhere between 5 and 10 spare invitations. Extras are also handy for mementos, last minute guest changes or in case any are lost in the post!

To print additional invitations after your original order is received will incur a further minimum quantity charge. This means to print an extra invitation because Uncle Bob lost his original invitation is going to be super expensive so that’s why we recommend a few extras in your original order.

The more time the better; ideally we ask for 4-6 weeks to create your invitations depending on the invitation design you have chosen. We always endeavor to create your invitations as soon as possible and can confirm our current production timing for you at any time just contact us.

Need your invitations in a super hurry? We may have a ‘rush’ service available on your selected design or can confirm which similar designs we can create in the time-frame you need so just ask us (please note, there is an additional charge for our rush service)

Absolutely! Once your order is received our design team can start working on your first set of digital proofs. Once they are ready (allow up to 3 business days) your invitation consultant will email through your proofs in PDF form. If you have any amendments these will be made and new proofs sent through to you within 2 business days for you to check and approve. You as the client must approve all proofs before the printing and production process can begin.

The first two proofs are complimentary (your initial proof + one round of changes if required). If necessary, additional proofs are available at a cost of $15 per proof set.

Due to the time and cost involved we do not send actual printed proofs or completed mockups of your invitation. Instead we email through full colour PDF proofs so you can see what your chosen colour, font and wording looks like before you approve your proofs and we send your artwork off to print.

Sure! Just contact us with your design requirements and inspirations along with the number of invitations, your budget and any special requirements and one of our creative flamingos will be in touch to discuss your invitation suite.

Currently we do not offer a print only service.

We use a variety of different print processes depending on the invitation design including digital printing, thermography, foil stamping and letterpress.

The print process used for thermography gives a beautiful raised finish, similar to engraving but waaaay less expensive.

Letterpress printing is the oldest form of print and hasn’t changed alot since the first press in 1440. Your invitation design is first turned into raised printing plates with one plate per colour, before being inked and passed through the press with our cotton paper. Each colour that is printed, needs its own set of printing plates, ink mixing and press set up. This means printing 2 colours takes twice as long as printing one colour and is twice as expensive.

As all our proofs are created by a real live designer, there is a cancellation charge of 30% of your order total if you decide to cancel your order after your proofs have been sent. If you have approved your proofs and the production process has begun we cannot cancel or refund your order.

Celloglazing is where a thin sheet of special film is adhered to your card stock through heat and pressure. Available in matte or high gloss, a celloglaze finish to gives your invitations a thicker more luxurious feel and enhances your printed colour.

Gloss celloglaze: enhances your printed colour giving your invitations a high shine, reflective glossy finish. Smooth to the touch and a thicker more luxurious feel than a standard card.

Matte celloglaze: enhances your printed colour giving your invitations an elegant, satin, matte finish. Smooth to the touch and a thicker more luxurious feel than a standard card.

Please note, we do not recommend handwriting on your invitations if you select one of the cello glaze options.

Some of our designs like our pockets are perfect for additional details including maps with their own little pouches or sleeves ready to go! Other invitations we can include an additional printed card in the same or complementing style. It’s best to get in touch with us to chat about what you would like and we can help you!

Map Guidelines – check out this information sheet for some details to keep in mind when including a custom map in your invitation.
