Today I am going to show you Jodie and Scott’s Little Bird invitation. Their invitation ensemble is an extension of their Save the Date card below…

We created their wedding invitations in the same colours (Fuchsia and Mocha) and the same font as their save the date card to keep their invitation suite consistent. The Little Bird in a birdcage now hangs from a branch featuring Jodie and Scott’s initials carved in it. The Wishing well card also carries the theme with a smaller version of the invitation branch and this time “Wishing Well” was carved into the branch.

Jodie and Scott wanted to give their guests some extra information with Accommodation suggestions and Transport details. We custom designed this card and used a smaller version of the birdcage decal to split the wording between the accommodation and transport information.

All cards were printed on our 100% recycled card which has a lovely flecked look to it. If you look closely you can see it in the image below..

Sarah came to us with a vision for Save the Date postcards for her and Richard’s wedding. We worked with Sarah’s design and colour palette to create a simplistic design with a lot of sentiment. Sarah and Richard selected a variety of places that are special to them to feature on the front of the postcard, places where they have lived, visited together or hold a special meaning. With a black and white colour palette this is a simplistic yet very personalised design.

We printed lines on the back for their guest addresses and left space so they can personalise each postcard for their individual guests, add a stamp and it’s their own destination postcard! Happy Planning Sarah and Richard!

With the new year here already! (seriously, where did 2011 go!) and the Summer weather looks like it has finally arrived we decided to create a fresh summery wedding inspiration board.

These are just so adorable, gorgeous little bird place cards. But these are no ordinary folded tee-pee style place card, firstly they are silhouette shaped like little birds..and if that isn’t cute enough then what about putting them on the rim of each guests glass to really tie in your theme.

Our gorgeous Little Bird place cards were created with a cream card and a lime coloured dotted border with each personalised with their new owners name!

These look stunning on a table with all the birds sitting on thier glasses. But the gorgeousness doesn’t stop there, you can use them in so many places! Use the little birds as part of table centrepieces amongst your blooms, as a bomboniere tag or even as an alternative to a guest book having each guest write their well wishes and perch the little birds onto a birdcage or floral arrangement.

Today I am excited to bring you a little look at a recent wedding of our gorgeous clients who were married in at the Lamphey Court Hotel in Wales. Nicole and Dave asked us to look after the stationery for their celebration. We created them a custom invitation based on our Little Bird in a Birdcage invitation, and rather than having one bird we included 2 birds in the birdcage design.

The gorgeous colour palette was carefully reflected throughout the celebration from the bright pinks and rose to gorgeous muted tones of lilac. Love bird Table numbers and Love Bird place cards also followed the theme in whites and rose.

Now back in Sydney Nicole and Dave and planning their Australian reception! Happy Planning and Congratulations on such a beautiful celebration!

Well, with a lot of baking inspiration arriving to us last week, I had to do a little weekend baking.

There wasn’t a lot of spare time on the weekend but I did manage to whip up some Banana bread and since I can’t share a slice of the banana bread with you lovely readers, I thought I would create a FREE muffin or cupcake topper printable for you instead! YAY!

Banana bread never lasts long in our house, even if it’s nicely packaged! Yesterday I baked in the blue loaf case from Emerald and Ella - so cute!

And a couple of individual muffin size with little cake topper  decoration just perfect for sharing . . .

Download your FREE cupcake topper template here. All you need to do for this easy DIY is print out the downloaded sheet onto your favourite colour paper or card and use a circle punch or scissors to cut them out! easy! (I used a 1-inch scalloped edge punch)

Once you have cut them out attach each sign to a toothpick with a little piece of tape. If you want them double sided just attach a cut-out to both sides of the toothpick with double sided tape!

Add a little ribbon bow (I used a 3mm ribbon) around the top, pop them into your cake or cupcakes and you have some cute little cake toppers!! – Enjoy! 

Today I have a lovely wedding and story to share with you. Karen and William came to Little Flamingo looking for their wedding invitations. Karen had been searching for something modern with a Chinese influence to honour William’s Chinese heritage, so with this in mind, we created her and William a pocket invitation featuring the Chinese Double Happiness symbol and dashes of red.

Karen describes her wedding as “one of those “feel good stories” where dreams really do come true, our wedding experience was full of emotion and an inspirational journey of two spirits joined together in this world that were truly meant to be.” with her favourite moment: “Being surrounded by our 4 children as we committed our love to each other, knowing we had their blessing and the acceptability of all that were there in support of our union.”

Karen’s gown is a stunning Sottero and Midgley design from Raffaele Ciuca Bridal. It has a gorgeous sleek luster with a slender silhouette and ruched bodice plummeting asymmetrically below the waist. The train pours into a balloon hem with a sparkling Swarovski crystal bead detail. Karen explains “The dress needed minimum “bling” as it was already a stunning centre piece in design, complimented only with amazing Swarovski crystal chandelier earrings and sparkling Swarovski crystal bracelet. It’s the stuff that fairytales are made of and I felt like the princess”.

Deb and Kerrie from Magical Makeovers looked after Karen’s hair and makeup for the day. Karen says ” I developed an immediate rapport with Deb who listened attentively, went beyond the call of duty on my wedding day to help, and with her maturity, warmth and expertise, creatively transposed me into the princess that every bride longs to be – looking and feeling so pretty.”

Both ceremony and Reception were held at the Mulgrave Country Club in Melbourne. Karen says “We chose the Panorama Function room at the Mulgrave Country Club in Melbourne with a light, bright decor and perfect size space for an intimate gathering. It served as both function and ceremony, which was held on the dance floor surrounded by guest tables.”

Karen says “The room came alive dressed with red sash trim and a fabulous organza, back drop draped with red satin and tiny lights framing the dance floor.”

Kingsley Koonwhye a solo singer/keyboard artist was chosen to take care of the music and MC for Karen and William. Singing ‘SHE’ (Elvis Costello) as Karen walked down the aisle. Karen describes Kingsley as “a talented singer/keyboard artist, who gets to know you, targets his audience and with spirit and emotion, truly brings your function to life.”

All the gorgeous flower arrangements were created by Kylie of Events in Flower. Karen remarks “Deciding on a small and personable florist recommended by a friend was one the best decisions I made. Kylie spent endless amounts of time discussing arrangements to compliment our theme and created stunning centrepiece and tall vase arrangements with a gorgeous ball of rich red roses wrapped in ivory satin ribbon for my bouquet.”

Karen describes her wedding: “A journey tinged with both happy and sad moments ends with the most beautiful wedding and is completed with the acceptability from family and friends wanting to share in our happiness. We were humbled with the amount of people who took an interest not only in our wedding but in our story of love as it un-folded. With not a dry eye in the room as we exchanged vows, the meaning of it all was having our children surround us embracing our union – we couldn’t have whished for more. With my sons arm in arm walking me towards the dance floor as my husband sang to me, it was the most emotionally charged moment and I felt the blessing from everyone in that room. It was finally ok to embrace “happily ever after”, a feeling each and every one of us searches for but sadly some never find – At that moment having trusted in the fate that brought us together, I do believe love is in deed a destiny and we were truly “meant to be”.

Today we waved goodbye to a stack of boxes and padded bags which are now making their way to some of our delightful clients!
