Gingerbread House

By Shannon - Little Flamingo | December 28, 2009

I love baking, and this year I had decided to create a gingerbread house! First I started off with finding the perfect gingerbread recipe for the job. Then as this project got out of hand and our kitchen a disaster zone filled with sugar,  Nicole and I decided we would build a sprawling gingerbread residence. After all our recipe testing and gingerbread people baking, and with all the other preparations we had to do for Christmas we ran out of time to create this gingerbread mansion and so have placed this into next years to do list.

However, I have just discovered these most adorable mini gingerbread houses that you hang off the side of your coffee or hot chocolate cup from the very clever Megan on her Not Martha blog. Have a look at these totally adorable gingerbread houses! I think I will be scrapping the gingerbread mansion and creating these gorgeous little bites next christmas! Get the instructions and all the details on how to make them here.

These would be so adorable at a christmas party when serving up tea and coffee. A great guest favor at a December wedding or even as part of a place setting, try piping your guest names onto the roof of the house – The ideas are endless!
